Join us for a night of laughter, history and hope - celebrating the women who came before us, and those still making history today.

We will be hosting a podcast recording of the Guilty Feminist, which has become a global phenomenon with over 200 million downloads and live shows at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House since its launch in 2015.

The evening will feature Kate Mosse CBE FRSL, international bestselling author and feminist champion, best known for her multi-million Languedoc Trilogy. Kate will be in conversation with Deborah Frances-White

With a piece of history for every day of the year, this is the perfect book to dip into time and time again. Full of quotes, poems, illustrations and pictures, Feminist History for Every Day of the Year is for all ages, celebrating and championing an inspiring history that is relevant to us all.

Halloween  Preparation at Year 7 DT textiles club

The lunch time DT textiles club has been using their hand sewing skills to make small products such as eco friendly facewashing pads and fabric sculpture pumpkins.

It is a good time to meet up with friends and explore how to cut out fabric shapes accurately and use hand sewing to join and gather fabric. Once they have their sewing machine license then they can progress to making more complex things using the machine.

Here are some of their fun pumpkins ready for decorating at this time of year.

Year 12 Art: Borough Market Drawing Trip

On Wednesday 15 October we took out all of the year 12 art students for a day of location drawing in and around Borough Market. The task was to complete a series of drawings and studies from first hand observation, as a response to the theme of ‘Place’.

It was a great day and everyone rose to the challenge.  Below are a sample of the sketches and drawings completed on the day.

Year 11 Geography Trip to Wales

Last week, Year 11 Geographers went away for three days to Brecon in South Wales.

A fantastic time was had by all. A big thank you to the students for being such excellent company. We measured a small but perfectly formed river for their GCSE fieldwork and saw numerous human and physical features including waterfalls, gorges, a disused coal mine and flood management strategies.

We even got some sun on our walks (Sun! In Wales!) and got to sing and roast marshmallows over a campfire.
