    Canteen

    The school has been providing in-house catering for students and teachers since 2006. All meals are freshly cooked on site each day using locally sourced ingredients where possible. 

    Fresh drinking water is provided in the canteen and students are encouraged to refill water bottles rather than buy bottled water and other drinks. Student opinion is sought to make improvements to the food offering. As a result, we have introduced a wider variety of hot and cold sandwiches, baguettes and wraps. Fizzy drinks and sweets are not sold in the canteen and crisps have been replaced with baked snacks and popcorn. The menu is based on a three week rotation and information about allergens is included both on this site and in the school canteen. A vegetarian option is provided each day. In a recent inspection, the school kitchen was awarded a food hygiene rating of 5.

     

    The school operates a cashless canteen and top up payments can be made using Parentpay or local PayPoint stores. Our finance team are happy to help if you need support setting up your account. The students can check their account balance on a reader outside the canteen.

    We encourage all parents who are entitled to claim Free School Meals to apply to Camden or their local borough. Students entitled to Free School Meals are allocated an allowance of £2.45 each day. This is enough to purchase a ‘meal deal’ of a hot meal and dessert. The allowance can also be used to purchase other items in the canteen. As the canteen is cashless students on Free School Meals cannot be identified and should feel comfortable making purchases.

    The school is committed to reducing the amount of non-recyclable waste it produces and from September we will no longer use disposable plates and cutlery.  All students have been given a water bottle by CASCA to reduce the amount of plastic waste the school produces.
