This week: Letter from Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards and Founder’s Day
I am delighted to announce that the school has received a letter of congratulation from Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards. Mr Gibb notes that Camden School for Girls is in the top 3% of state-funded mainstream schools in terms of the progress our students made in 2018 from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4, with a Progress 8 score of 0.89.
In addition, he praises the school’s very strong languages offer, noting that this provides students with ‘a very firm foundation in linguistic knowledge, as well as broadening their horizons’.
Our school has now received six letters of congratulation from ministers over the past few years!
Many thanks to all for contributing to such a remarkable achievement. None of this happens without a great deal of hard work and commitment from everyone. All staff and governors dedicate phenomenal time and energy to student welfare and to promoting exceptional outcomes for all our students, equipping them in every way for their lives after their school education is complete.
Many thanks as well to all parents, who make an enormous contribution to student welfare and outcomes by demonstrating to their children how much they value education. Our students would not achieve such excellent results without very strong parental backing.
Once again, thank you to everyone for your hard work, commitment and for inspiring our students to achieve so much.
Founder’s Day 2019
Founder’s Day gave us an opportunity to remember the extraordinary work of Frances Mary Buss in establishing this school. It is a time when we re-visit our values and reflect on how they are still relevant and important today. We listened to inspirational speeches from our Head Students, and to glorious music and singing from the orchestra and choir. It was wonderful to see so many parents, old girls, governors and friends of the school attending the commemoration as guests. Many thanks to all for making the occasion so memorable.
