    Y8 Mind Maps

    Mind maps are a brilliant way of organising and learning information. They can help you to break down complex information and see the connections between different ideas. Because of that, they’re not easy to do well, and a lot of people misunderstand what a good mindmap is (it most certainly is not a spider diagram). 

    The y8 class I teach have been learning about the science of sound during lockdown. Once we finished learning new material, I challenged them to create a mind map covering what they’d learned. This way they got to clarify their understanding and practice a way of learning that will prove useful throughout their academic life. And I got to see their successes and identify any lingering misconceptions. Well done, in particular, to Zoe, Harmony, Cleo and Avery whose mind maps are shown below.
