    CASCA News

    Hello from Casca!

Firstly, I hope you are all keeping well and safe and are coping with the huge changes we have seen to daily life over the last 6 weeks. It has been a little while since we have been in touch but a little bit of life balance has returned so it was time to say hello.

The end of the school year came about very abruptly for us all and with it a sense of loss, sadness, anxiety and uncertainty. We have all had to adapt to new ways of living and working which has been challenging at times.

I’m sure you will agree that Ms Kitcatt and all of the teachers have worked incredibly hard to engage with the students and to keep them motivated to learn.

As you will know we took the decision to cancel the Quiz back in March just before school closed. Everything happened very quickly during that last week as we responded to a rapidly changing situation.

The Quiz team worked incredibly hard to put the event together and it was disappointing to cancel it but of course essential for the safety and wellbeing of everyone. The Quiz was sent out digitally at a later date and I hope you all enjoyed taking part in it at home – please let us know your scores!

We would like to say an enormous thank you to all of you who very kindly donated your ticket price to the school. We have currently raised, through your donations in the region of £2900. This is incredible. We are truly touched by your amazing generosity. Thank you so very much.

Looking to the future, as a team we will need to look at how we can manage our fundraising and community ventures in the current climate. It will be a balancing act between social distancing measures, financial impacts and how best to support the school and its community. Even though our children are not physically at school they will return sometime in the near future and our support for the school will be more important than ever.

This year’s Summer Fest will sadly have to be cancelled but we hope that in the future that we will be able to offer other chances for the whole school community to come together. That will certainly be a memorable day when it happens!

Thank you all again for your incredible support of CASCA and the school.

Please do get in touch if you have any ideas or thoughts on how we can best continue to support the school and its community in these very different times.

Or just say hello - we always love to hear from you.

Please keep safe and keep well.

    Thank you

    CASCA (Vice Chair)
