PE Round Up - Autumn Term

    PE Ambassadors

We now have a full complement of PE Ambassadors, having chosen 3 Year 7 students this half term. The team is now:

    • Year 7: Kelis, Gracie and Shukri
    • Year 8: Emma, Betty and Kaia
    • Year 9: Izzy, Marwa and Olivia
    • Year 10: Raya, Ella and Pearl
    • Year 11: Halle, Mia and Lulu

The Ambassadors help at all PE events and clubs, and have responsibilities within the department too. They speak at assemblies, and are a great source of information on anything PE related in school!

    Football
We kicked off our fixture calendar this year with the Borough football competition. Our teams played well against all opposition, with our Year 9/10 team finishing 8th overall, Year 8’s in 6th and Year 7’s in 6th. Our football club is still running, with coaches coming in from Arsenal every Wednesday after school. It will start back on the 22nd of January.

    Borough Cross-country
We had a huge amount of interest in this year’s competition, and took 9 students in each Year group. Running conditions were perfect, with soft ground and the sun shining on the 2.5km course. In terms of team performances, our Year 10/11’s came 3rd, Year 9’s came 1st, Year 8’s came 2nd and Year 7’s came 3rd. There were also some fantastic individual performances with Jess 9M coming second in her race, and Helen 8M coming 3rd! Any student who would like to check their overall placing should check the notice board in the gym. Well done to everyone who took part!

    Basketball
This term has also seen our Basketball teams in action against other Camden schools in the Borough Shield competition. Our Year 9/10 team came up against some very tough opposition, eventually finishing 4th overall. The Year 8 team started their campaign last week with a win against Haverstock and a loss against Maria Fidelis. The Year 7 team had some close games against Haverstock and Maria Fidelis too, losing narrowly to both. They have two more sets of games to play before Christmas.

    Dance
Dance Company are looking forward to their first performance together at this year’s Christmas Assembly! They’ve been working hard, and are excited to show everyone what they’ve been doing!

Year 7 have also been doing Dance in lessons this term. They have been learning choreography that they will be showcasing in the school Dance Show in March!

    Spring term events

    • Borough Netball (Years 7-10)
    • CSG Dance Show (All years)
