    CASCA News

A huge thank you to the nearly 300 of you that took the time to participate in the Parent Survey. The majority of respondents demonstrated a real interest in getting involved by contributing time, ideas and/or financial support to make improvements to the school site and engage with the CSG community.

The main takeaways that pertain directly to CASCA’s role in supporting the school are:

    1. The areas of fundraising priority should be on improvements to the facilities, outdoor communal areas and ‘site greening’; followed by sports provision upgrades and IT; also further interest in greater support for mental health, inclusion, extra-curricular activities/trips and life skills training
    2. Most parents/carers DO NOT feel well connected to their child’s form group (78%), year group (86%) and were unclear how they would contact other parents in their child’s year group (79%).
    3. 6th Form parents were eager to mobilise and ensure specific attention is paid to the 6th Form facilities and student needs
    4. New parents also felt particularly disconnected and were eager to establish stronger parent/carer networks
    5. Over half of all respondents wanted to be more involved with their child’s Form group; just under half wanted to have greater involvement with CASCA (whoo hoo!) and offered direct support

(*If you’re one for stats and would like to hear about the anonymised results in more detail, please email and we’ll share.)

These results are helping steer CASCA as we double our efforts to build a stronger parent/carer community and support important site improvements in the coming months as the students return to school.

We will be launching our Spring/Summer Fundraiser via Parent Mail next week to fund these improvements--so please keep an eye out and give what you can.

Again, thanks to all. Have a lovely weekend,

    Your CASCA Team
