Year 9 Design and Technology students were very lucky to have an opportunity to discuss the range of exciting career opportunities available in the creative industry; one of the UK’s fastest growing sectors.
The talk was delivered by Amy, Head of Talent at Framestore - The Bafta and Oscar winning visual effects creative studio behind Bond, Wonder Woman 1984, Paddington and many more. The talk was an Introduction to jobs in the creative industries and gave information about the opportunities for people with a wide and diverse range of skill sets. This even included opportunities in production, useful inside information on the many routes into the industry and the kind of skills they look for.
Year 9 learnt about the many fascinating aspects of creating visual effects and Amy delivered a really inspiring lesson highlighting the role of designers, makers and some unexpected areas of talent which contribute to VFX in films such as His Dark Materials and Avengers Endgame. The key message was the importance of teamwork, communication and collaboration in the creative process.
It was fantastic that year 9 participated so well, asking questions and overall making this virtual visit a huge success!
