    Support The Royal Free Hospital

On Tuesday 28 April, we all stopped for one minute’s silence to remember those NHS staff and carers we have lost to Covid-19. This is a strong reminder of the ongoing need to support our NHS Heroes. Each and every one of us is finding the length of isolation challenging. For hospital staff, long periods of intense nursing, wearing PPE and putting their lives on the line is taking a heavy toll.

For the duration of the crisis, The Royal Free Charity has been providing vital wellbeing support to these front-line workers, at The Royal Free Hospital, helping them get through this most challenging time. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this has included free hot meals and snacks during shifts, as well as respite areas in which they can relax and connect online with family members. In addition, we have provided psychological support to those who have suffered trauma and accommodation for others who cannot go home because of vulnerable family members.

The need is still acute and will continue to be for some time. Though we may have just passed the peak of this crisis, our local NHS Heroes still face much hardship ahead.

Please share our COVID-19 appeal www.royalfreecharity.org/covid19 with your parents and help our medical teams as they continue to help us.

Or, if you would like to organise a collective fundraising activity, why not encourage your pupils to participate in our virtual Walk for Wards event during their lockdown exercise hour? They can participate whenever suits them best and for however long they like. And the more creative they wish to be with their walk, the better!
