    Headteacher’s News

As we approach the end of the second week of the Summer Term I have been discussing with colleagues how long ago 20th March seems. That was the last day we had the whole school open, and so much has changed since then. Our students have shown how adaptable they are by embracing home learning and continuing to be interested, ambitious, creative and conscientious.

However, we do know that it is not easy to learn in this way, and we are listening to feedback from parents and students. This has been provided in surveys with students and in communication with home. While most of the work being set is about the right amount and is proving accessible, some students are struggling and we are looking at ways to adapt what is being set where necessary, the amount of learning and the frequency of tasks. This way of working is new to us all, and so we will keep checking that we are providing what students need.

I hope you will enjoy looking at the students’ work included in this Friday News as much as I have. When we can’t see our students, it is lovely to see their work!

Do please keep encouraging your children to send in a piece of work (and it doesn’t have to be schoolwork!) for inclusion in the Friday News - a photo, drawing or painting, a piece of writing on any subject - anything they have done over the past few weeks that they’d like us to publish. We’d love to hear from them.

Wishing you a safe and healthy week,
